This interesting stone built tower has been granted planning permission for restoration and conversion to residential use, along with an annexe also to be built in stone. Obtaining planning consent for such buildings is a lengthy and expensive process, and the new owner would be able to begin the work of restoration immediately. 
The property is located in a wooded valley close to the spectacular limestone gorges of the Val Nerina near Spoleto and enjoys pleasant views towards the mediaeval hilltop villages of Ponte, Borgo Cerreto and Cerreto di Spoleto. The tower probably dates back to the 14th century AD and as its name Palombaro indicates, would have been used as a pigeon loft, where the birds were bred for food.

The tower is offered for sale with about 1 ha of surrounding land, mainly woods. Mains water and electricity are ready to be connected. The nearby village of Cerreto di Spoleto offers basic amenities, and surroundings offer to practice many activities as cycling, trekking and rafting. Furthermore, the thermal baths, known as "Triponzo's Baths" and the magnificent flowering plain of Castelluccio di Norcia are a few kilometers from the tower. Spoleto is about 20 minutes drive away. Here there are good rail and road connections to Rome, and Perugia airport with direct flights to London and Bruxelles is 1 hour away.
