Francavilla Marittima is a ancient town in the northern part of the region Calabria between the national park of Pollino and the beautiful Gulf of Taranto on the Jonic see.

Known since the Bronze Age for the Timpone della Motta, Francavilla was once one of the best known settlments and santuaries of the Oenotraian and Greek culture who rose in the southern part of Italy between the VIII and VII century BC.
